Is there a fee for participating in the Project?There is no fee to be a participant in the Anti-Racism Project.

How old do I have to be to participate?You must be at least 18 years old.

How often will we meet?Unknown

Who do you anticipate will be the participants?We anticipate participants from many Long Island communities who are interested in educating themselves further about the issues of racism and hopefully becoming anti-racist activists.

Can I attend with a friend?Certainly. Come alone or come with others.

Where will the sessions be held?In Rockville Centre at one of our supporting organizations.

What if, due to unforseen circumstances, I am unable to participate in all of the sessions?"We do ask that you commit to attending every session but if the unforeseen occurs, please confer with your facilitators.

What if I feel uncomfortable?No doubt there will be moments of discomfort as we delve into the painful realities of racism. We will ask participants to trust the process of our course, honor confidentiality, and rely on the facilitators for help. Your honest responses will be valued and will help to foster a meaningful experieince for the whole group.

Who are the facilitators?Our volunteer facilitators have a variety of creditials: they are educators and social workers with expertise and experience in diversity leadership, social activism and group facilitation. They have all recieved additional training specifically geared to this Project.
